ABOUT TARA
Priding her work using precision cut gems all crafted by her own hand in her studio she only sources the highest quality rough collected ethically from artisans' miners and gem fossikers worldwide.
Setting her own gems into pieces that are truly unique, with organic, bold, sculptural, modern so as not to detract from centre stage, the 'gem', with the highest quality of finish making sure the underside is just as important.
Designed and crafted from start to finish in her studio using traditional and modern technologies for that extra precision using recycled mixed metal and high-end facet material for her gems.
ART AND DESIGN TRAINING
After Canterbury College of Art, she went on to complete a Bachelor of Arts Degree at the School of Jewellery in Birmingham, achieving many awards for design, silversmithing and stone setting it is here she registered her unique makers hallmark, her initials TMC with the hallmark for Birmingham, the Anchor, shown here alongside a stamp for the authenticity of the metal (Britannia silver and its fineness) and date it was made.
Following on from here she worked alongside Martyn Pugh a leader of the silversmithing world before setting up her own studio in 2000.
AWARDS - COMMISSIONS - COLLECTIONS
Tara has received many awards over the years some included from The Worshipful Company of Goldsmiths', The British Jewellers Association, also holding significant commissions and collections with pieces in the Victoria and Albert Museum London, The Ashmolean Museum Oxford, Birmingham Museums and Art Gallery, The Contemporary Arts Society, and The Pearson Collection to name a few.
Her pieces have exhibited worldwide and nationally - The Royal Palace Milan, The Keith Lippert Gallery Washington, The Goldsmiths Company 'Celebration' exhibition, Leighton House Museum Kensington, Mappin & Webb London, to name a few.
